Mazda Rx 7 Legendary Mythical Cool

Mazda RX-7 is a sports car produced by Mazda Japan car 1978-2002. The original RX-7 showing cc twin-rotor Wankel rotary engine and 1146 front-midship layout, rear-wheel drive. Replaces the RX-7 RX-3 (both are sold in Japan as the Savanna) and then replaced all other Mazda cars rotary engines except for Cosmo.

The original RX-7 is a sports car with pop-up headlights. Compact and lightweight engine of Wankel (rotary engine) is located slightly behind the front axle, configuration marketed by Mazda as  "front mid-range engine ". It was offered as a two-seat coupe, with the optional  "occasional " back seat in Japan, Australia, the United States, and other parts of the world. This is the back seat was initially marketed as a selection agent-install for the North American market.

First Generation (SA22CC)

Series 1 (1978-1980) is often referred to as  "SA22C " from the first alphanumerics of the vehicle identification number. This series of RX-7 had exposed steel bumpers and slope-located high-mount plate, called by Werner Buhrer of Road Track Magazine &  "Baroque depression. " In Japan was introduced in March 1978, replacing the Savanna RX-3. The lead designer at Mazda is Matasaburo Ikuo Maeda, whose son would go on to design the Mazda2 and the Mazda RX-8.

In May 1980, Mazda released 2,500 North American model special known as the LS (Leather Sport). This package is basically a model GS uprated by adding LS badge on each pillar-B, special striping, and LS wheel anodized gold-only (with the outer rim and polished faces). All editions come equipped with special LS LS-only full brown leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, shift knob are wrapped with leather, sunroof, LS-specific detachable four-speaker AM/FM stereo Radio with antenna power (although listed as six speakers stereo, as two double rear speaker voice coil count as four speakers in total), remote power door glass side-view mirror, and other standard GS equipment. The two main options are also available, a transmission 3N71B JATCO automatic three-speed and air conditioning Options GS others like cassette tape decks, splash guards, padded arm rest center console and others can be added by the dealer.

 LS models only ever available in three exterior colors: Aurora white (1,000 made), Brilliant Black (1,000 made) and solar gold (500 made). Production estimates in brackets widely accepted estimate per color, although there is no official production notes are known to exist or have been released, other than the combined total production numbers 2,500 units.

Series 2 (1981-1983) have integrated plastic bumper, wide black rubber body side molding, rear light cover and engine control components are updated. GSL package provided optional four-wheel disc brakes, front ventilated (Australia model) and clutch-type rear limited slip differential (LSD). Known as  "FB " in North America after the US Department of Transportation mandated 17 digit Vehicle identification number changeover. For a variety of other markets around the world, 1981-1985 RX-7 SA22C ' maintaining ' the prefix VIN. In the United Kingdom, the 1978-1980 series 1 cars carrying SA on the vehicle VIN code but all the cars then (1981-1983 & 1984-1985 3 series 3 series) brings code FB and this first generation RX7 known as  "FB ". The license plate surround looks much the same as that Buhrer's "Styling Impressions."

3 series (1984-1985) featuring an updated front lower fascia. North American models received a different instrument cluster (NA S3 RX-7 rotary-engined car was the only one to not have a tachometer mounted Center). GSL package continued into this series, but Mazda introduced the GSL-SE sub-models. GSL-SE has a fuel injected 1.3 L 13B RE-EGI engine producing 135 hp (101 kW) and £135 • ft (183 N • m). GSL-UK has many of the same options such as GSL (clutch-type rear LSD and rear disc brakes), but a larger brake rotors, allowing Mazda to use the more common lug nuts (versus bolts), and a new 4 x 114.3 bolt pattern (4 x 4.5  "). Also, they have upgraded suspension with stiffer springs and shocks. The external oil cooler was introduced again, after falling in the year 1983 model year for the controversial  "honeycomb " water-oil heat exchanger.

1984 RX-7 GSL is expected to have 29 kilometers of highways per gallon (8.11 litres per 100 km)/19 km of the city's estimated per gallon (12.37 l/100 km). According to Mazda, its rotary engine, licensed by NSU-Wankel allowed the RX-7 GSL to speed up 0-50 (80 km/h) in 6.3 seconds. Kelley Blue Book, in the 1984 edition of the January-February 1981, noted that the RX-7 GSL detained 93.4% of its original sticker price.In 1985 Mazda RX7 Finale released in Australia.
